THE PAINTING RAG is a hard-copy, full color, specialty newspaper created by Decorative Artists to provide information and fun articles about Decorative Painting. "Information for the creative heart."

The newspaper is published bi-monthly, the first issue was released in September of 2006 and has steadily gained in popularity ever since.

THE PAINTING RAG Readers consist of all types of artists and others. Everyone loves to hear (read) a good story, and our Readers tell us over and over again how much they enjoy hearing about the artists and businesses that they love. They also appreciate the balanced mix of success stories, helpful information, contests & games, free design patterns for their own painting pleasure AND finding new businesses by perusing the ads. Although created for Decorative Painters, we know that individuals have a diverse area of interests; therefore the newspaper has also featured a pastel artist, a classical oil painter, fine art shows and decorating advice, etc. We are often told from Readers that as soon as the newspaper arrives, they like to sit with a cup of tea and read through the entire newspaper in one sitting.

The artists that are featured in THE PAINTING RAG are a mix of tried and true favorites and newer undiscovered talent. This provides Readers a glimpse inside their favorite artist's lives but also a chance to be introduced to new artists that are trying to "get the word out."

The companion website provides additional information such as what businesses/advertisers the current issue is sponsored by and high resolution downloadable photos of the free design project found in the paper. The newspaper is available through subscription and we just added the ability to subscribe online and receive your subscription electronically!

THE PAINTING RAG is much more than painting patterns, it is a good read!
